PITCH MEETINGS

Today the class got the chance to present their ideas for our fourth year films. It was a lot of fun, but we had a lot of pitches to go through! I'm lucky my name starts with an F, otherwise I might not have gotten some good feedback from the lecturers and my peers. I presented alongside my character designer, Libby, and I think we did a good job of carrying across our story.

I put together a beat board animatic on Sunday, and I think it certainly improved the quality of our pitch, judging by the class reactions. I was very happy with the reception, I heard a lot of people laughing and that made me a little proud of my comedic timing. I wasn't sure if just describing the plot would engage people, and I feel I'm a better presenter when I can visually demonstrate a plot.

Overall it was a very positive experience, and I'm hoping that even if my film doesn't get selected for the final eight, enough people will have liked my idea that they'll wanna jump on board!

ASSISTANT WORK

During the lunch break, I worked on a more on-model sketch of one of the Shot 32 frames. I spent a good while on it because I wanted to make sure I was on model, as the character is wearing a suit that doesn't allow for as much flexibility, so I really had to think of how it would move as a 3D object. I sent this over to the showrunner for feedback and she provided me with a draw over to point out some errors. She noted that I did a good job keeping it on model for the most part, which I was relieved to hear. I think having one frame down will make it easier to clean up the other frames.

This was my revised and approved rough frame:
