FINAL FILM PITCH

It's been a very busy week! The final picks for the fourth year films were announced on Tuesday night, and Creche and Burn was selected! I'm so chuffed to have the team I do. We had a meeting on Wednesday morning to discuss the next steps and what kind of roles everyone is specialising in. After the meeting I made a post just summarising what we talked about and what everyone can do before our first meeting with Phil on Monday.

At the moment, I've set up folders for everyone to upload their work to, as well as resources for the team to look through. I've set up an inspiration guide document detailing art style, background, location, story, and soundtrack inspirations, with suggested material/episodes of shows for people to check out while we're in the early development stage! One such suggested viewing list is on letterboxd, as I know a few of my team have accounts and may want to tick them off or save the list! I also provided Settei (anime production sheets) as references, as I've mentioned a lot of anime as my inspirations, primary of which being Osomatsu-kun (1988), by Studio Pierrot. My lead character designer and I have been watching a lot of it together this week!

A lot of the team have dived right into character design exploration and I've seen a lot of animation tests. It's all very exciting to see everyone so enthusiastic about my idea. I feel honoured that there were so many people that wanted to work on my film.

I drew a couple style tests to keep character designers and animators on the same page. At first I made the background for the zombie frame with the select tool to save time, but it lead to me realising that's the direction I want to take with the film! I gathered a lot of reference material from Promare, Powerpuff Girls, Mission Hill and others to add to my inspiration document.

Lastly, I mentioned soundtrack inspiration before- I have a couple of musically inclined folks in my group, but since I'm looking for a harsher sound for the action sequence, I've gotten in contact with a fellow classmate who produced the music for one of last semester's pitches, Fish n Chick. Hopefully that goes ahead, I want to match that guitar-heavy, action packed sound!

COMM FUTURES

Youtube. met with group. Problem solved by suggesting we each come up with an idea seperately and then put them in the teams chat and find a common or related theme that way. with only 2 weeks left to make this assignment im a little worried purely because of how research based it is. I hope we can make something we're happy with.
